Municipal Corporations are issuing authority of trade license in india. Issuing trade licenses are regulated by municipal corporation acts of concerned state governments. Getting Trade licenses are made mandatory to ensure that no one is involving illegal or unethical acts in the name of trade.

          Trade license may have categories. Small, medium and large industries have to take industries license. Shop license is for Retail shops, fancy stores, saloons, etc. Food establishment license for restaurants, food stall, canteen, etc.

            Business must be legally permissible. Applicant should be more than 18 years old and he must not have criminal records.

            Generally the validity of trade license would be one year and it has to be renewed annually. Application for renewal should be sent within the 30days from the date of expiry of Trade license. Otherwise penalty should be paid. While applying for renewal, one has to submit original copy of trade license and Property tax receipt copy.
